I Wanna Believe

This is a poem I wrote a while back from the perspective of a girl trapped in human-trafficking. I hope it’s enlightening. Again, if you have any questions please leave them in the comments. The reason for me starting this blog was to inform and make aware trafficking and a way for me to do that is to answer the burning questions in your mind. Thanks!

All I want to do is run.

This life is like a prison;

No escape.

No faith in a new life.

They say, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

They are wrong in my case.

I am breaking.

They are breaking me.

My spirit and freedom are dead.

But something keeps saying,

“There is hope after the long run.”

It keeps telling me to go on.

To endure for my hope,

for my sanity.

It tells me to believe in humanity.

Is everyone like this?

Would everyone do this?

Why me?

I wanna believe in humanity!

I wanna believe your love sets me free!

I wanna believe that your righteousness

can come and fix this mess.

I wanna believe.
